Recording test scores
Enter unit tests, use the grade grid, lock units for report cards, and understand who appears on the roster.

Open the gradebook
Record → Test Scores (/grades)
Select the school year and a course. The page loads units for students enrolled in that course for the year.
Who appears in the table
- Students enrolled in the currently selected school year (Years → Enrollments).
- Students must also be enrolled in the course for that year (Assignments → Course Enrollments).
- If your account is restricted by grade level, you only see students in grades you may access.
Entering grades
- Each unit uses a test pattern defining weighted groups.
- Add any number of tests from any of the groups in the pattern.
- Use the unit grid for fast multi-test entry across students.
- Click a test title to open test detail (dates, notes, skip options).
- Press Ctrl-Enter (Cmd-Enter on Mac) to save all dirty scores.

Locking a unit
- Makes the unit grade appear on the report card.
- Locks scores so they cannot be edited further—use when the term’s work is finalized.
Report cards and unlocked units
If a unit is missing from a report card, confirm it is locked and that the student is enrolled correctly. Unlocked work stays in the gradebook for continued entry.
Classroom tips
- Enter scores often; locking is a separate “publish to report card” step.
- Use consistent test titles within a pattern group so family reports stay readable.
- Coordinate with co-teachers who share a course—permissions may limit who sees which grades.
