Release notes
Changelog
Notable product updates for RecordGrade—new features, improvements, and fixes. Newest releases are listed first.
1.18.0 — September 17, 2026
- Diploma snapshot: issuing a diploma copies that graduation level onto the student. Catalog levels stay editable; already-issued transcripts do not change. Replace or revoke a diploma on the student record.
1.17.0 — August 31, 2026
- Staff access: Manage users in three tabs — Grades, Courses they teach, and Permissions.
- Lock a school year: mark a year read-only so past records stay put. You can still view them. An admin can turn the lock off under Years.
- Overview: a school watch list with tabs for the snapshot, slipping students, below class, behind pace, recent scores, and courses. Flag a score below a percent or a class gap (defaults 85% and 10 points) under Report Settings.
- Attendance Counts Attendance totals stop at today, so pre-filled future Present days are not counted.
- Lesson planner and calendar: school-wide plans and day events can be All staff, Only for me, or selected grades (teachers keep private; homeroom is limited to their grades). Untimed events now sort first before plans. In the lesson planner, each lesson shows the day it lands on.
1.16.0 — August 20, 2026
- No-grade Pass / No Pass / Withdraw: mark a no-grade enrollment No Pass or Withdraw (0 credit, stays on the record). Pass is automatic. Unenroll still removes the course. No Pass and Withdraw freeze that year’s hour log. Settings → Reports can print P on transcripts and permanent records (including 0-credit elementary no-grade courses). NP and W always print. P/NP/W are not in GPA and are distinct from a letter-grade F.
- Manual entry: the grade cell accepts a percent, blank, Pass/P, No Pass/NP, or Withdraw/W (use No Pass, not Fail or F). Same values in CSV import.
- Printing lesson calendar: Print the lesson calendar in month, week, or day view.
1.15.0 — August 13, 2026
- School plans: lesson plans no longer have to belong to a course. Use them for chapel, assemblies, grade meetings, or a whole year of planning without courses. Optional grade list hides a plan from staff who do not have those grades. Several school plans can be active in the same year; course plans still work as before.
- Double / Stretch: year-only calendar adjustments. Double puts a lesson and the next on the same day (chainable). Stretch repeats a lesson on the following meeting day (repeatable). Skip and bump are unchanged.
- Frozen past days: after a day has passed, that day’s lessons stay put when you change meeting days, start date, skip, double, stretch, or bump. Choose when a new pattern starts, or relayout from a date to recompute forward.
1.14.0 — August 07, 2026
